Class 10bG “takes action“!
For about three weeks before the Christmas holidays we discussed about human rights, Amnesty International and different cases of human rights violations. Claudia Schönherr and Ulrich Grom, two members of the local AmnestyInternational group, visited our class and explained how AI works and how we can help.
In the lessons we went on Amnesty's homepage, registered and read about different cases, discussed about them and also took action to help people in different parts of the world. Over 900 people on death row in Iraq face imminent execution. That was one of the most shocking headlines of recent cases. In Iraq there are, as the headline says, 900 on death row, 120 have already been excecuted this year.
